Summer in the Whitsundays – it’s the best kept secret…
Drop anchor in a quiet anchorage far away, find yourself an empty beach and soak up the serenity, discover the island waterfalls and explore the rainforest tracks… Welcome to summer in the Whitsundays!
Whilst many people might be unsure about summering in tropical north Queensland, we are here to spread the word of the Whitsunday’s best kept secret – the summer is an incredible time of the year to visit!
With the busier months of May-October behind you, it is not surprising to often stumble across a slice of paradise and enjoy it all to yourself. With the azure waterways that bit quieter, and with 74 islands to explore, hopping on board a boat and charting a course to the islands is even more tempting – Experience many of the popular anchorages completely uninhabited and many popular snorkelling or beach destinations, away from the peak season crowds, are footprint-free and ready to be enjoyed.
In addition (followed by the slightly more frequent, passing summer showers), the rainforests come alive! Seasonal waterfalls scattered around the islands burst forth and provide fantastic fresh-water swimming options, as well as a great photo opportunity!
Whether hiring a bareboat for a week, hopping on a skippered day tour, putting your own boat in the water or simply hiring one for the afternoon, there are so many incredible reasons to get out on the water at this time of the year… because life really is better when you’re boating, in the Whitsundays this summer!
