Silver Accolade for Cumberland Charter Yachts at Tourism Awards
With just shy of 400 people from across the Whitsundays’ tourism & business sectors, the industry got together on Friday evening at the newly reopened Daydream Island Resort to celebrate the annual night-of-nights’ at the 2019 Whitsunday Tourism Awards.
Recognising businesses that have a solid business plan and continually innovate their products, Cumberland Charter Yachts took out silver at this year’s awards ceremony for ‘Unique Accommodation’, focusing on the uniqueness of the tourism experience and having an unconventional accommodation style.
General Manager Sharon McNally celebrated the night alongside staff and industry partners, and was quick to thank the team at Cumberland Charter Yachts. “This award wouldn’t mean anything without the dedication and hard work our staff bring to the office each day”
“We’re also very excited to see the reopening of island resorts Daydream Island and Hayman Island this year so that our charterers can have more to explore in this magical holiday destination.” said Mrs McNally.
Tourism Whitsundays Chief Executive Officer Tash Wheeler is proud of what the Whitsunday tourism industry continues to achieve each year amongst a changing travel landscape.
“Tonight, is a night of celebration, not just for those who take out gold awards, but for each and every one who works in or contributes to tourism. Whom without, we would not have this dynamic and diverse destination,” she said.
Cumberland Charter Yachts are attending the Queensland Tourism Awards on the Sunshine Coast on the 8th November, entering in the Unique Accommodation category.
