We are delighted to start this month’s update by announcing that we have been awarded Global Gold Anchor Platinum Marina Accreditation. This is the highest accreditation level available under the current international system, awarded for marina service, standards and facilities.
This accolade is true recognition of Paul Darrouzet’s vision and on-going commitment, as well as the hard work and dedication of the marina resort team and all of our operators. Together we have made Coral Sea Marina Resort the iconic destination that it is today.
There are only seven other marinas in the world who have received this honour, so we should all be extremely proud about joining such an elite group. The presentation will be made by the CEO of Marine Industries Association (MIA) on Friday 1st November at Lure.
Platinum status comes with a significant responsibility as a leading global marina resort. In addition to ensuring that our high level of performance is maintained, we must also commit to continual improvement. Given our location and the global importance of the natural assets that surround us, we are currently focusing our efforts on providing educational opportunities and increasing our environmental commitment.
We now officially launched our Coral Sea Academy, with an event last month in conjunction with the Great Barrier Reef Legacy. The aim for the academy is provide guests, visitors and locals opportunity to engage with topics relating to environment, sustainability and better boating practices.
Our next Coral Sea Academy event – the Safety At Sea Mini Expo – proudly supported by MSQ and VMR, is scheduled for Saturday 2nd November. This will be hosted at the Lure foreshore (meeting point C) and we encourage all guests to pop down and learn something new about safety at sea.
We also have three new Hydration Stations being installed at the meeting points this month to help reduce single use plastics throughout the resort. Please join us in using refillable water bottles and encouraging others to do the same. We have branded CSMR water bottles available for sale at both our offices, should you wish to purchase on – $15.
Our What’s On calendar of events continues into October, with weekly outdoor fitness classes, an art class at Garden Bar Bistro and Trivia Night scheduled throughout the month. We have live music and sunset sessions taking place regularly at venues throughout the resort, so please check our What’s On calendar on the website, our flyer at reception or our Facebook page for details.
Wishing you a great month ahead.
