We were delighted to be awarded Major Tourism Attraction (Silver) at the Whitsunday Tourism Awards last month. This award is focused on the number of visitors we bring to the marina resort precinct every year and the range of experiences on offer for guests. We consistently strive to provide a vibrant resort precinct and would like to make special mention of the contribution of our tenants and operators, many of whom were also awarded on the night.
The Airlie Beach Festival of Music takes place 7 – 10 November at venues across the Whitsundays. Both The Garden Bar Bistro and Sorrento Restaurant & Bar in the marina have live music each day during the festival. Check out the official festival website for band information.
The Coral Sea Resort Hotel will close on the 11 November for several weeks, whilst we carry out some exciting upgrades. The hotel will reopen just before Christmas with a newly refurbished and rebranded restaurant. The restaurant is offering a 5-course degustation for New Year’s Eve dinner with tickets available online through Whitsunday Tickets. The restaurant has a stunning waterfront location, and we highly recommend you come and sample the new menu once we reopen. Marina guests are entitled to 10% discount.
Our Mini Safety On Water Expo was well attended this month and we invite you all to join the Coral Sea Academy for our next free event – The Flying Scientist: Marine Science Showcase on 14 November at Lure, Coral Sea Marina, 6,30pm. Marine Biologists, Catherine Kim and Dr Jenny Allen, will present on coral research and the unique topic of whale song! All are welcome. Bubbles and nibbles provided on arrival.
In December the Coral Sea Academy will run an Extreme Weather Preparedness workshop for all marina guests and operators – dates to be released soon. With the summer upon us, we encourage all guests to review their vessel prep in the event of extreme weather.
