It’s GOLD for Coral Sea Marina Resort!
In a formal ceremony taking place this week, owner of Coral Sea Marina Resort, Paul Darrouzet was awarded 5 Gold Anchor accreditation by Colin Bransgrove, CEO Marina Industries Association (MIA). Coral Sea Marina Resort have officially now become the first marina internationally to attain Gold Anchor accreditation under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme.
The certification was awarded yesterday by the Marina Industries Association in their capacity as partner of the Global Gold Anchor Marina Accreditation Scheme. The scheme is designed to provide a template for customer friendly marina development, as well as benefitting world marina users, by providing a global performance benchmark for marinas to effectively position themselves within a scale of 2 to 5 in the marketplace. By attaining the highest accreditation – 5 Gold Anchors – and the first global accreditation, Coral Sea Marina Resort has positioned itself as a key player in the marina industry and a marina of choice for domestic and international visitors.
Paul Darrouzet, owner of Coral Sea Marina Resort says of this achievement “It is a very momentous occasion for Coral Sea Marina Resort as we have taken a previously run down 2.5 star marina to a 5 star marina that now sets a benchmark across the globe. As a result of Mr Darrouzet’s vision, Coral Sea Marina Resort has committed to providing a world-class destination marina. With a strong focus on customer service, vast improvements in facilities and marina services and an exciting range of new and diverse tenants, the marina has raised the bar for the marina industry and its success in doing so has been further cemented by the recent attainment of the 5 Gold Anchors.

Representing the Marina Industries Association in Australia at the presentation was Colin Bransgrove. Of Abell Points achievement, Mr Bransgrove said “Coral Sea Marina Resort is a fitting recipient to be presented with the first accreditation under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme. It epitomizes what Gold Anchor stands for: a focus on the customer experience, quality services and facilities and an enduring commitment to continuous improvement”.
Providing access to the 74 Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef, Coral Sea Marina Resort’s perfect position on the Queensland coast provides scope for driving tourism to the Whitsunday region.
