Launched in February 2016, Lure provides a unique venue encompassing world-class food, captivating views overlooking the Whitsunday Islands in a natural environment whilst encapsulating the same standard of quality service delivery as the marina. With capacity of 200+ this nautically themed venue is fast becoming the venue of choice for weddings, functions and conferences in the Whitsundays.
Coral Sea Marina Resort are once again proud to be hosting the Whitsunday Writer’s festival at Lure, from 2-4 September. In its seventh year, this popular event is open to literary lovers, writers and those who are interested in all aspects of literature and the arts. ‘Coral Sea Marina Resort were honoured to come onboard again in 2016 as sponsor for this iconic Whitsunday event. By offering Lure as the host venue we feel confident the breathtaking views and the vibrancy of the marina village will provide creative inspiration for all those involved’ explains Nolwenn Foligne, Function Centre Manager.
Well known ‘Best Job in the World’ winner and Whitsunday advocate Ben Southall is one of the speakers at this year’s event, sharing his passion for the region and explaining how he has made a living through following his dreams. Ms Foligne confirms “You don’t have to be a writer to participate in the festival and we would encourage anyone with a keen interest in poetry, literature and the arts to come along and experience the unique setting of Lure, accompanied with good food and inspirational guest speakers’’.
Marking the start of a busy season, Lure will host a variety of unique events over the coming months to showcase the Lure venue to both the local community and visitors to the Whitsunday region. All scheduled events will provide a unique evening of entertainment in the world-class marina village setting of Coral Sea Marina Resort.
Kicking off with a trivia night on September 17, hosted by Australian Trivia Master, Jason Montgomery a well-known TV personality. The following month, a Spring Carnival afternoon of fashion and fabulousness on October 22, for those who love the glamour and glitz of the racing carnival season. November brings a Celebrity Chef Feast catering for food and wine connoisseurs, with December’s focus being Christmas functions and celebrations.
