Coral Sea Marina, a leading marina facility located in the heart of the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the title of Superyacht Service Provider of the Year at the esteemed 2024 ASMEX Australian Marine Awards, where industry professionals from across Australia gathered to celebrate excellence and innovation within Australia’s dynamic marine industry.
This prestigious accolade recognizes Coral Sea Marina’s unwavering commitment to providing exceptional services and facilities to superyacht owners, captains, and crew. As Queensland’s first 5 Gold Anchor Platinum accredited marina, the marina’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, alongside its dedication to guest satisfaction and innovative practices, has set a new benchmark within the industry.
“We are incredibly honoured to receive this award,” said Kate Purdie, CEO of Coral Sea Marina.
“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. We strive to offer unparalleled service and amenities, ensuring that every vessel that visits us experiences the very best in hospitality and support. Superyachts are vital to the Whitsundays’ economy, and delivering exceptional service is truly a team effort. This recognition inspires us to continue pushing the boundaries of excellence in the superyacht industry.”
The notable increase in Superyacht charter demand over the last three years has seen unprecedented visitation to the marina and to the region. To ensure that expectations are not only met, but exceeded, Coral Sea Marina continues to innovate to ensure their marina facility and service levels best accommodates the needs of Superyacht owners, captains and crew.
Coral Sea Marina’s drive for excellence ensures a world-class crew experience, particularly through its Platinum Crew Club. Launched in 2021, the marina’s Platinum Crew Club has grown to include a community of over 300 superyacht crew across the globe. The Platinum Crew Club is specifically designed to immerse Superyacht crew in the Whitsunday & Great Barrier Reef region and offers crew events, excursions and community engagement opportunities, as well as access to all the ‘hidden gems’ the region has to offer.
The marina’s Superyacht Donation Hub is another key development connecting remote communities with the yachting world. The Superyacht Donation Hub has been responsible for the collection, coordination and delivery of essential supplies to remote communities in Vanuatu, PNG and Fiji via domestic and international Superyacht networks.
The Superyacht Donation Hub also includes a valuable partnership with the ‘Days for Girls’ program, which aims to reach girls and women in vulnerable and remote regions and provide menstrual care and education.
Initially winning this award in 2017, again in 2021 and for the third time in 2024 strengthens Coral Sea Marina’s position as a premier destination for superyachts in the Asia-Pacific region. With exceptional service standards designed to meet the unique needs of superyacht owners, captains and crew, Coral Sea Marina is primed and ready to welcome increasingly more superyachts to the stunning Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef cruising grounds over the next few years.
