Members & Prospective Members – You Are Invited To Attend Our Friday 13th BBQ and Information Evening
When – Friday 13/2/15 6pm to 7.30pm
Where – Coral Sea Marina Resort South Village
RSVP – Wednesday 11/2/15 to abellpointyc@gmail.com
To members old and new; to those thinking about becoming members; and our current and potential sponsors, this is an invitation to our first social gathering to inform you of the direction and activities of the Abell Point Yacht Club for 2015.
We have a very motivated new committee and a clear new direction which will see an increased focus on fellowship and organised events to compliment the historical race program. There is also a major shift to a club which is inclusive of all the boating community. The committee has recognised the need for a club which includes the extensive power boat fleet here in Airlie Beach and provides special events and get togethers which promote general boating in our unique Whitsunday region.
While our sailing events will always be a fundamental part of the club, we think events such as a formal dinner on Whitehaven Beach and a reef rendezvous on the Knuckle Reef pontoon will add a pretty unique feature to our club event calendar.
The committee would like to extend an invitation to you to join us at the Marina South Village at 6pm on Friday 13th February for a Burgers & Beer event to hear about the club and its exciting 2015 events. Members and new members will have a chance to meet the Committee and collect their membership pack. There will also be a once only special discount for the 2014/15 year membership for people joining on the night.
As well as the plans for the Knuckle Reef and Whitehaven Beach events, we have ideas of golf weekends at Hamilton Island, wine and cheese nights on the marina arms as well as working closely with existing events such as Shag Island and the Game Fish Club annual tournament to make Abell Point Yacht Club a great club to belong to.
The Friday 13th Burgers & Beers night is free of charge to all, courtesy of local sponsorship arrangements and we hope you can make time to come and say hi and learn about the direction the club is taking into 2015. We hope you will join us in making this THE boating club in the region.
