Airlie Beach Music Festival (ABMF) runs from the 5th to 8th November. This year’s festival extends across 16 venues including the Main Stage at the Whitsunday Sailing Club, 5 ticketed venues and open venues (no tickets required) across the township of Airlie Beach. Featuring the festivals favourite bands along with some new comers. The festival includes a variety of music styles from Rockabilly, Reggae, Blues, R&B, Aussie Rock, Hip Hop, Country, Folk, Pop and to Classic Rock. With the festival in its third year featuring headlining acts the international 70s band 10cc, American singer-songwriter Toni Childs, Angry Anderson with the James Southwell Band, The Black Sorrows, Richard Clapton and Wendy Matthews. The festival so welcomes the return of crowd favourites over the past years the Mason Rack Band, 8 Ball Aitken, Bondi Cigars, House of Shem, Wanita and her Honky Tonk Bar Dwellers, Pop Standen & the Phil Emmanuel band, Electrik Lemonade, Bill Chambers, the Hillbilly Goats and Lance Friend and the Murky River.
Coral Sea Marina Resort will be hosting two stages, one at Barcelona Tapas Bar located in the South Marina Village and the second stage featured at Sorrento Restaurant and Bar located in the North Marina Village. Both of these venues are open venues with no tickets required for entry and are located on the marina foreshore, the ideal location to sit back relax, relish the waterfront views and soak up the atmosphere.
As part of the social events for the Abell Point Yacht Club, members are encouraging anyone interested to join in the company of yacht club members to attend various gigs and to get to know one and another.
