Coral Sea Marina Resort is the tourism and hospitality hub of the Whitsundays. Hundreds of visitors and locals every year visit the marina whether it be to depart on a day tour, hire a bareboat, have a relaxing coffee or a delicious dinner at one of the marina restaurants. With this in mind, the marina contributes heavily to supporting the local schools community and youth projects to show the future of the workforce the diverse range of employment opportunities there are available in this region.
Earlier this month a group of senior students studying environment at Proserpine State High School came for a field trip to the marina and were given a talk by our Finance Manager and Infrastructure Manager about the importance of environmental responsibility and also the impact of taking an environmental focus on the profitability of a medium sized business. The pupils very much enjoyed their time at the marina and it was great to see the enthusiasm from the students in the environmental space.
The Cannonvale State School newsletter this week contained a lovely thank you message to the Coral Sea Marina Resort manufacturing team for constructing the kids new sets of goals and donating them to the school. According to the newsletter the kids are thoroughly enjoying their new equipment (see feature image) and we are delighted to contribute this sporting equipment to encourage the children to engage with sport and remain healthy during their school years.
We are also delighted to announce that Abell Point will be the major sponsor for this year’s Cannonvale School Fete – in conjunction with Hemingway’s Restaurant. What a great way to give back to the youth community and support our local schools, of which many of our staff and marina operator’s children attend. If you are in region on Sunday 29 July, please pop down to the school and support this event.
