For non-locals there can be a lot of confusion on how to visit the Whitsunday Islands. Tourists often come to town thinking that they can catch a ferry and explore the islands at their leisure and while they can do this for Hamilton Island, it isn’t the case for the rest of the islands in the group. The Whitsundays are a pristine and under-developed island group. This is thanks to them being part of a Marine Park and that has strong rules and regulations in place to keep this unspoiled paradise just the way it is. To clear up any confusion here are five ways to visit the islands from Coral Sea Marina Resort;
1. Throw the lines or launch your boat.
If you are lucky enough to have a trailer boat then your job is easy. Launch your vessel at our deep-water boat ramp, park your trailer and head off for the day (or night) around the islands. If your boat is in a marina pen then throw your lines and get out to explore the wonders of the Whitsunday islands. Upon your return, radio threw to the Marina Office and we will have someone waiting on the docks to catch your lines.
2. Take a scenic flight and land on Whitehaven Beach
Departing from the Coral Sea Marina Resort Helipad you can fly over the Whitsunday Islands and great barrier reef, land on the stunning Whitehaven for a picnic lunch or fly to heart island on the Great Barrier Reef (stay tuned for updates on this exciting new tour!)
3. Visit with a Daytrip
With vessels departing daily from Coral Sea Marina Resort you will be able to find everything to suit your needs. From sailing trips, to fast motor boats you can even travel via jetski!
4. Take an overnight trip
Spend your night around the islands on a retired maxi racing yacht, a 117 year old tall ship or choose a more intimate option with a sailing catamaran. There are a broad and diverse range of overnight trips to suit all budgets and tastes.

5. Skipper your own adventure
Bareboating is one of the hero experiences within the sheltered waters of the Whitsundays. Hire a vessel and take the helm as you spend your time exploring the islands at your leisure.
