What are Master Reef Guides and how do you join Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef?
These questions and many more will be answered at two Great Barrier Reef Festival workshops at the Great Barrier Reef Festival.
Hosted by Lure Weddings & Events in the south marina village, the workshops will be held on Thursday, August 1, and are free to attend.
The morning session, from 9.15-11am is aimed at kids, with school students from the Cannonvale State School confirmed to attend and families with children who are home-schooled invited to register via www.greatbarrierreeffestival.com.au.
The afternoon session from 12-2pm is aimed at adults, with registrations also through the festival’s website.
Whitsunday diver, conservationist, and founder of the Order of Underwater Coral Heroes (OUCH), Tony Fontes, will act as Master of Ceremonies for both workshops.
Both adults and kids’ sessions will include Q&A’s with the region’s Master Reef Guides, from Cruise Whitsundays, Ocean Rafting and Cumberland Charter Yachts Whitsundays
There will also be special presentations by Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef on both their main program and the new ‘Junior Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef’.
Kids will get an additional treat with a presentation on the Whitsunday Turtle Rescue centre, run by Eco Barge CleanSeas
Be a part of something truly great and join us at these engaging, interactive events designed to inform and inspire on all things Great Barrier Reef!
